Website Hosting and Maintenance

Websites these days can be seem expensive, especially for small business owners or individuals, but considering they last for around 2-3 years and, with some effort, can help generate more business income whilst improving business credibility, they are usually more than worth the costs.

As well as design and build costs, it’s important to consider the ongoing costs of running a website.  Websites needs somewhere to live; somewhere so everyone can view it quickly and safely – this is called ‘web hosting’, and is usually charged annually or monthly.

Websites are created using a combination of software plugins, these add a range of functionality to improve the user experience, and they need to be regularly updated and checked to keep your site running smoothly.  Updates are a necessity for various reason, not least site security and software compatibilty, but things can go wrong when updates are run and there is the ever present risk of your site being hacked.

We can manage all the website maintenance for you, or you can choose to take on the repsonsibility  of the site  yourself.

Hosting / Maintenance Packages

We can advise and help set you up with your own hosting – costs usually run around £20.00/month ex VAT (dependent on site size, requirements and where it is hosted).

For sites hosted on your own choice of hosting company, site admin and maintenance costs start at £85/month.

If you choose managed hosting, we will host your site on a VPS (Virtual Private Server), so no sharing a server with lots of people and you will be  less likely to have security issues. We also keep your site updated, dbaked up and well maintained.
